reiki-treatmentsFirst off, Reiki is not a religion. It doesn’t require you to subscribe to a particular faith, nor does it require that you hold a certain level of spiritual awareness. Reiki can be learned and practiced by anyone.

Known as a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, Reiki also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

Life force or “Ki” flows within the physical body via pathways including chakras, meridians and nadis.

When your Ki is balanced and flowing freely it is able to support and nourish vital organ functions and you experience good health. If your Ki is restricted, or unable to flow properly you are susceptible to fatigue, stress, depression, and illness.

Reiki facilitates the free flow of life force energy though the affected parts of the energy field- charging them with higher vibrational frequencies that connect you to your Divine essence.

Each individual responds to Reiki differently depending upon their overall health and sensitivity to life force energy. However, common sensations include: heat, cold, vibration, tingling, lightness, and/or heaviness. Clients also report being able to let go of tension and the experience of deep states of relaxation.

As a Reiki practitioner, not only have I witnessed the impact Reiki has had on others, I’ve experienced the healing benefits of Reiki first hand.  Reiki has helped me address bouts of insomnia, anxiety, and improved my overall sense of wellbeing.  Remember Reiki isn’t a religion, nor does it require you to subscribe to a certain belief system. Reiki is however, recommended for anyone who wants to integrate a simple practice into their daily routine to improve their overall health and wellbeing. As a side note, Reiki can be combined with other practices and healing modalities, including Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and meditation.
